This is an ancient rural path connecting the urban center of Papa- sidero and the ancient village of Avena (now an uninhabited hamlet). The path climbs up the hill upstream of the village throu- gh a sheep-track along the north side, reaching an altitude diffe- rence of about 300 m approximately. In the ancient hamlet of Avena is located the Holy Trinity Church, built on an old convent of Basilian monks, which houses a fresco of the Trinity surrounded by the four archangels.
